Behind the scenes:

My name is Laiken and I am so happy you found The Mommy Attic! I am newish to Barrie, Ontario (originally from Oakville) and the single mother of identical twin kiddos & baby. I spend most days chasing my kids around and microwaving my coffee every 20 minutes while trying to keep this business going. You will see me cruising in my packed-full minivan from market to market most weekends!

How it all started:

2020 was a year of many things, including taking stock of what is most important to us all. After working at a fancy-pants corporate media job, I was left feeling unfulfilled creatively. How many of us watch others live dreams that we are too afraid to take that leap ourselves? This was me. For many years I was afraid to follow a passion, what if I failed? I think a lot of us feel this way. There was one thing that I could always count on though: my passion for being a mother. Through the ups and downs of twin parenthood, through being a single mother, I have watched my fears shift. I am no longer afraid of failure (most days), I am afraid of never having the nerve to try. Here I am having quit that corporate job and diving into a clothing line that comes straight from my "mama heart". It is truly a reflection of what I value as a mother - being a little sassy, a little cute, and we all know that if you can't wear it with black leggings.. we don't need it. Know that every piece was designed every ounce of passion I could pour into it. When you order from The Mommy Attic you are truly making my dream come true.
